This ideal geographical position allowed Vienna to quickly accumulate wealth from the four corners of one of the greatest empire the old continent has ever known: the Austro Hungarian empire. Naturally, this is Vienna was the capital of that empire, and one can still notice the many monuments in the city center from this period. They make Vienna one of the most beautiful cities in Central Europe and logically a place to discover! For this you can stay in one of many hotels that make up the city !
Area attractions to discover in priority, the imperial residence of the Habsburgs since the thirteenth century until 1918. Called "The Hofburg" is in this castle that lay the famous Empress Sissi ... Today, the castle houses the headquarters of the Austrian Presidency, the Austrian National Library and several museums, such as the "Albertina". It is also possible to visit some rooms and staterooms, allowing to realize the luxury in which emperors and empresses lived. Outside this imperial residence, there are many other sites to visit during a stay at a hotel in downtown Vienna. few can name, such as Castle "Schönbrunn" World Heritage UNESCO or even the St. Stephen's Cathedral, one of Vienna's emblem but also one of the tallest buildings in the city ... The cathedral is located in the city center, where one can find a lot of stores , restaurant and bars.
Close to the cathedral and the "Hofburg", we find the building housing the Vienna City Hall. It is located in front of the "Burgtheater" (Grand Theatre). If the facade of the Town Hall is worth a look, especially the belfry we notice placed in the middle of the building.Called "Rathausmann" loan it measures 98 meters high! Opposite the town hall, we find a beautiful park, the Rathauspark with its many lovely benches in summer, and its central square with the "Christkindlmarkt" in winter, the largest Christmas market in Austria.
Next to the town hall settled the University of Vienna, one of the watches in Europe since it was founded in 1365! It is close to the university's most famous Vienna coffee, the "Central Café". You will be able to taste the specialties of a Vienna "Sachertorte".This is a chocolate cake with apricot jam and chocolate icing.
If you prefer wine to coffee, know that Vienna is one of the few cities in the world to have its own vineyard. The wine produced is served in small taverns called "Heurigen", which are mainly located in the district of "Grinzing". These taverns, in addition to offering a delicious wine, serve many traditional Viennese dishes that you must absolutely taste during your stay!
Finally, if you want to enjoy the night for fun, know that Vienna has many night bars and other nightlife venues. We find a lot around the central metro station, also known as the "Währinger Gürtel".
